Stocking fillers and sweet seasonal tunes this Saturday at the Sligo Flea!

Sligo’s boutique indoor flea market returns to The Model on 29 November 2014 for a once off festive spectacular. The historic, welcoming Model building once again plays host to this popular local market. The soundtrack for the afternoon will be provided by tin pan alley band ‘The Honey Bees’, singing the beloved classics of Irving Berlin and Cole Porter.

As ever it’ll be a feast for the eyes and senses – there’ll be vintage clothing and curios, handcrafted accessories, vinyl records, quirky Xmas stationary from Strandhill based illustrator Noelle Healy, festive bakes and eco friendly clothing for the little ones!

The market will be open to the public between 12-5pm, there is free Wi-Fi in the building, and after an afternoon of browsing, visitors can unwind at The Gallery Café, located in the bright central atrium of The Model. All are welcomed!

Cult film screening: ‘Cry Baby’, March 29 2014

On March 29th, we hosted a special film screening (our first!) of John Waters’ 1990 cult classic ‘Cry Baby’ at The Model Cinema in Sligo.

Guests were encouraged to dress up in 1950 style garb, and against a background of rockabilly tunes from DJ Dilly Dream, we supped on retro cocktails, and posed for pictures (taken by Donal Hackett)!

10% of ticket sales went to the Donal Parsons Trust.

Sligo Flea’s Christmas Market, November 23rd 2013

Our first Christmas market took place on Saturday last. We expanded into two rooms for double the amount of choice for you savvy Christmas shoppers. We received positive feedback from visitors and stallholders alike!

Sligo Flea’s Christmas Markets: November 23rd, December 14th and 21st

We’re back, and BIGGER than ever at The Model! Our Christmas markets take over on November 23rd, December 14th and 21st. We have the usual curios – bric a brac, vintage clothing, rare vinyl, collectable kitchenalia, costume jewellery, designer second hand clothing, retro bakes, illustrations and designs by local artists, and so, so much more!

There’ll be a pamper parlour for you to relax and unwind after an enjoyable day of browsing. Tea, cake and coffee from the lovely Jessie and Louise at the recently reopened The Model Café.
